Indian Education System Delivering Better Results Than Europe#

The BBC web site has an article today about how the some of the education establishments in Asia are delivering students with better skills than European institutions. The Asian countries mentioned specifically are China, India and Korea, whereas parts of Europe are failing to deliver students with the same level of skills.

23 Indian Billionaires - Most in Asia#
The BBC web site was today carrying a story about the growth in the number of billionaires in the world according to a report by Forbes. The snippet which caught my eye was the following statisitic about India.

"India's 23 billionaires have a combined net worth of $99bn, surpassing former Asian leader Japan's 27 billionaires with their total worth of $67bn"

Many New Pilot Jobs in India#
Over the last year Indian airlines such as Air India, Indian Airlines, Spicejet, Kingfisher, Air Sahara, Go Air and Jet Airways have ordered 100s of new Airbus and Boeing planes. Now the planes have been ordered the question asked by Rediff.com is where will all the pilots to fly these aircraft come from?

TATA Consultancy Services (TCS) look for Boeing outsourcing work#
The Business Standard and The Hindu newspapers are both reporting that TATA Consultancy Services (TCS) are eyeing significant parts of the IT work Boeing intends to outsource to Indian companies as part of the re-investment from the recent Air India order for Boeing aircraft.

InfoSys Infrastucture Management Center comes to Prague#
InfoSys (INFY) is expecting to open a Infrastructure Management Centre in Prague next month, to provide a bridge between its operations in Europe and its off-shore services. The new infrastructure management centre will be situated in the Progeon1 offices. Setting up centres of operations in Eastern European countries is an activity that has been carried out by many of the other players such as IBM, EDS, Cap Gemini and HP.

1 = Progeon is the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) subsiduary of InfoSys.
